Todd Gower

"I started as a trainee embalmer and assistant funeral director in 1993 at a large funeral home conducting a wide range of services for different cultures, ethnic groups and religions in the Auckland area. I then returned home to the Bay of Plenty and joined an established funeral firm here, gaining valuable experience locally.
While working in the Bay of Plenty, I completed the National Certificate in Funeral Directing through the Central Institute of Technology (now WelTech). I realise that qualifications do not make you a good funeral director, however they do provide the public with an assurance that you have achieved a professional standard, and that you continue to enhance the skills and knowledge initially gained.
In 2003, I moved to Wellington to work as a funeral director to further enhance my skills. While living in the capital city was enjoyable, I found that I missed the Bay and the network I had established here, and so I returned in 2004, establishing my own business Todd Gower Funeral Services which soon became recognised as Tauranga's boutique funeral home." |

"Hello I’m Paula Williamson, I joined Todd Gower Funeral Services in 2006. With my role as a Funeral Director/Office Administrator I bring a wide range of skills to the profession through previous employment working with the public and in administration roles.
As a woman Funeral Director I am able to add another dimension to a traditionally male dominated industry. Throughout my time with Todd Gower Funeral Services I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful families who have allowed me the privilege of having their loved ones in my care.
Tauranga has been home for most of my life. Married to Glenn for 18 years I’m a proud mother of three; Ashley - an arborist, Sam who is studying towards a building career and Brooke who is still at school. Family time; Camping, watersports, fishing, good fun (and the odd glass of wine) are just some of the things I enjoy in my spare time.
